Best in Show

Cast your minds back to your childhood, and the famous opening scene of the animated, and infinitely superior, 101 Dalmations. Do you remember the narrator beginning the story, as dog owners and their dogs walked around London? Each one bore a distinct resemblance to his or her animal – prim dogs with prim owners, a rotund gentlemen with his bulldog… Come and see if there’s any truth to it!

Edinburgh College of Art is forming a super-team with Moray House School of Education to put on the Innovative Learning Week event, Best in Show. Dog owners and their pooches will be asked to pose, as ECA and Education students teach secondary school students how best to draw them. Meanwhile, students from disciplines like animation and fine art within ECA will also be working to capture these subjects in as many original and innovative ways as possible.
